Lent and Passion Phanqithos of the Syriac liturgical year cycle; deluxe limited edition of 200 copies reproduced from a traditional hand-written colored manuscript.

The Syriac Church still employs the manuscript tradition in its liturgy. The Phanqithos have never been printed using printed types or fonts. This elegant set was especially produced by the scribe-priest named Gabriel Aktash who still lives in a village in Tur Abdin, southeast Turkey, the heartland of Syriac Christianity. Rev. Aktash employs in his artwork all the traditional features of phanqithos production as described under the images below.

This indispensable deluxe limited edition of 200 copies is a treasure; book collectors will find that within a few years, the value of this limited set will rise tremendously.
