The book of Kalila and Dimna, written originally in Sanskrit, is probably the most widespread fables book in the world. It has been translated several times into Syriac from various sources. The last of these translations was made by Thomas Audo from the Arabic version, and was published in East Syriac letters in 1895. This edition gives Audo’s text transcribed and vocalized in West Syriac by J. Çiçek.+This standard edition of the Chronicle, composed in AD 507, is considered one of the most valuable authorities for the period with which it deals. The manuscript from which the text is derived is a palimpsest copied between 907 and 944.Save $20.25
