Scholars of textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible have long known that the Septuagint and Peshitta texts frequently agree with one another over and against the Masoretic Hebrew text. In the present work, Johannes Hänel provides examples of such agreements between the Septuagint and Peshitta in the book of Genesis and attempts to explain why these texts agree with one another and disagree with the Masoretic text.
