This work contains a discussion between Carl Heinrich Cornilland Bernhard Stade on the meaning of Jeremiah as "a prophet unto [the] nations" (1:5) in the context of the first chapter. Is he a prophet to Israel and Judah, to all nations indiscriminately, or to nations in similar positions? Included is a concluding note by the author on Stade's death.
