Bishop Gregorios Yohanna Ibrahim has here given us a biography of this key figure. Ibrahim includes in his book a sixty-page catalogue of the books contained in the patriarchal library of Afram Barsawm which Dolabani himself prepared. The biography also includes samples of Dolabani’s Syriac poetry and prose as well as a piece written by him in Arabic. A number of photos relating to Metropolitan Dolabani and his life are also included. This work is necessary reading for anyone seeking to understand the Syrian Orthodox Church in the modern period.
