This two-volume set provides a vivid glimpse of the early years of the prestigious American School for Oriental Study and Research in Palestine and the nature of archaeology at the beginning of the twentieth century. The School was then a dozen students touring the Eastern Mediterranean each winter; this report covers a single year of their finances and their activities. In 1904-5, he school navigated Jordan and the Dead Sea and collected numerous inscriptions.
