This slim volume contains the Syriac text with facing French translation (modestly annotated) of one of Ephrem’s hymns on the Nativity. The hymn is written with each strophe beginning with a letter of the alphabet in order from alaf to taw. The prefatory material touches on the Feast of the Nativity and general information about Ephrem’s hymns (meter, etc.). The author gives a list of other hymns by Ephrem related to the one published here.
