The Book of Guidance (Kitab al-Huda) is a collection of canons and rules for the direction of the Maronite Church and its members. It was originally written in Syriac, but survives only in an Arabic translation by a bishop named David for a certain Joseph, whose letter to the translator is also included here with a response from David. The basis for the edition is a Vatican manuscript copied in 1402. There are introductions and tables of contents in both Arabic and French. The volume will be of importance for students and scholars of eastern Christianity and Christian Arabic literature.

An Anthology of Syriac Writers from Qatar in the Seventh Century

This anthology seeks to redress such an underdevelopment by providing new material in English translation with accompanying Syriac and Garshuni editions to encourage further research in the sub-field of Beth Qatraye studies. It includes the work of some of the most prominent scholars in this field.

The Center and the Source

This book proposes a model for explaining unity and diversity in early Christianity that centers about a clear confessional identity, allowing both extreme expressions of diversity of texts and traditions while explaining the exclusion of teachers, texts, and traditions that deviated from the confessional norm.
