This small book is part of the ‘Allah Ma‘na’ (God With Us) series, created by the Syrian Orthodox community of Aleppo for use in Christian schools, Sunday schools, and Church educational programs. This volume presents students with actual scriptural passages from a number of the most important passages in the Gospels, including: the Annunciation, the Prologue of John, the Baptism of Christ, the Temptation, the confession of Peter, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. Each scriptural passage is then followed by a section which patiently explains its meaning. The text also includes a number of other features: Syriac and Arabic prayers taken from the liturgy are included in the text and children are encouraged to memorize and internalize them; illustrations are also included which are intended for both adults and children and which are suitable for coloring; puzzles and activities are also included at the end of each lesson which encourage children to scripture memorization. This book is ideal for parents seeking Christian instructional materials for their children in Arabic and can also be a very useful introduction to Christian Arabic and the Syriac liturgy for students of Middle Eastern Christianity.
