This work introduces a new method of learning Hebrew: through conversation. The reader is plunged imediately into the Hebrew alphabet, and then into sentences; the only French is in the grammatical tables, the preface, and the copious glossary. A curious and valuable piece of linguistic and social history, this work foreshadows the immersion method, and will still be useful to French students of Hebrew and language pedagogy.
