This study is about the works and ideas of three tenth- and eleventh-century Islamic scholars, Al-Jassas, Al-Baqillani, and Qadi 'Abd al-Jabbar, with a focus on the subjects of mujmal and mubayyan. The author compares their views while also determining their theological concerns and ways of using Arabic. The author also contextualizes each scholar's position within the school of thought to which they belong.
