Born in Midyat in 1911, he emigrated to Brazil in 1980. This book collects together a number of Maqdisi’s writings, including poems, a series of letters written to Abrohom Nouro, selected Syriac and Arabic essays, as well as the Maqdisi’s last interview (conducted in English). An introduction by Bishop Gregorios Yohanna Ibrahim contains biographical information about Malphono Denho and a short essay by Abrohom Nouro gives the background history of this particular book. A number of pictures from the life of Malphono Deno are also included. This book will be of great value to all who are interested in Syrian Orthodox history in the twentieth century as well as to anyone interested in the history of Syriac and Aramaic.
