Rufus B. Richardson, the director of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens at the time of this paper, publishes the discovery of the fountain of Pirene in Corinth. Mentioned by Pausanias in his ancient guide to the cities of Greece, the fountain was an impressive local landmark in Roman Corinth. It is still extremely well preserved and shows traces of the original paintings that once covered the interior. This report includes a detailed description of the site, it's artwork, and the first-person account of the discovery and exploration of this rich and beautiful site.
