The two present articles were originally published separately but are published here together because they take up the same issue. In the first article, A.M. Schneider challenges the traditional view that locates the house of the high priest Caiphas at the site of the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu in Jerusalem. In his argument, Schneider deals directly with the opposing arguments of P. Power as enumerated in a previous series of articles on the subject. However, Power takes issue with Schneider’s representation of his argument, and responds to clarify his position. Thus, Power’s response is published here together with Schneider’s in order to make these publications more easily accessible.
