Dr. Yigal Levin is a senior lecturer at the Department of Israel’s Heritage, Ariel University Center and at the Israel and Golda Koschitzky Department of Jewish History, Bar-Ilan University. His principal fields of research are Biblical history, archaeology and historical geography in their Ancient Near Eastern context and the history of early Second Temple Judaism. He has participated in several archaeological excavations and surveys and has organized academic conferences on Biblical and Judaic studies, onomastics and the history of the Land of Israel. He is also the editor of A Time of Change: Judah and its Neighbors in the Persian and Early Hellenistic Period, (London, T&T Clark, 2007).
