S. Kent Brown retired from Brigham Young University in 2008 after teaching for thirty-seven years. He holds a BA in Classics from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Brown University. The author of more than 100 publications, Dr. Brown led a microfilming effort to film more than 1,500 Christian manuscripts in Cairo and Jerusalem.
The Ostraca of the Coptic Museum, written on pottery pieces, limestone flakes and wood, present the lives of ordinary people in their interactions with one another, and includes their economic and personal affairs. This volume is a catalog of the 1,127 ostraca in the museum.
